Here is my sample, the layout that I was inspired to create from the sketch! I love how versatile sketches are depending upon how you choose to use them. I stuck to the placement of a lot of the elements of the sketch and just chose to use different shapes than those suggested in the sketch.
This layout incorporates two AMAZING ThermoWeb products into the layout to add some great texture to the layout; Deco Foil Flock adds that fuzzy texture to the flowers while Deco Foil Metallix Gel adds a lovely shimmer to the page that coordinates perfectly with the gold foil in one of the patterned papers that I used from this collection.
I began the creating of the layout with the Deco Foil Metallix Gel in Aged Copper. I could have used either Pixie Spray or Purple Tape to tack the stencil down to my page and opted for the Purple Tape as it also enabled me to cover some of the openings in the stencil WHILE securing the stencil to the cardstock. I didn't want the busy-ness of all the butterflies, instead preferring just a few, flitting down the length of the page. I then used a palette knife to apply generous amounts of Metallix gel. After lifting the stencil, I set this aside to dry for a while.
In the meantime, I worked on the multi-layer flowers using Deco Foil Flock and the Deco Foil Flock Foam Adhesive Sheets. The bottom layer of the flower (the foliage you see) was created by laying a piece of "Green Envy" Deco Flock onto a piece of similar sized Foam Adhesive Sheet from which I removed the top layer of the paper layer, exposing a sticky foam onto which the flock transfer sheet was placed. This was placed flock side (color) DOWN into the die and run through my manual die cut machine. Next was a piece of cardstock. Then the top layer is just "Think Pink" Deco Flock on its own. Also, cut with the flock/color side DOWN. Ultra Bond is a GREAT adhesive for these flocked elements and doesn't result in the buckling that a lot of liquid adhesives causes.
Look at all that velvety texture! There is even dimension in the green foliage with the flat flock and raised flock! It's amazing what you can do with these products! If you know me and my work, you know I'm BIG on texture in my projects and these are great ways of effortlessly adding an abundance of texture to your projects!

And that's not all... Designer Katrina Hunt decided to take on the sketch challenge and here's her layout based on Suzanna's fun sketch!
I have so much fun with sketches and I loved Suzanna's that I had to play. Plus its NSD!!
The Therm O Web items I used were Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets in Black Velvet, Deco Foil Transfer Sheets in Pink Quartz and Plum, Deco Foil White Foam Adhesive, Memory Runner XL, Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive, and 3D Foam Squares
I just switch up the sketch by flipping it. I used the Deco Foil Flock sheets in the Black Velvet as the bigger layer on the sides. I choose black to tie my pictures in!
The Plum Deco Foil Transfer Sheets also helped to tie things together. I just punched a shape out and then transferred the foil to the shape. No heat needed.
Then the Pink Quartz foil paired perfectly with the paper collection I used, so I threw some in there also! That cornered needed something! Hope you enjoyed my take on the sketch!

Up next... Ellen has an oh so fun take on the sketch! We hope you agree!
I started creating the card based on the layout of the sketch. the pictures show that I followed that sketch very closely. On the two main squares, I used "Deco Foil Transfer Sheets - Amber Watercolor" with the "Deco Foil Clear Toner Sheets - Splatter". Under that transparency, I layered a paper of the same size with distress ink on. The medium and small sized "Zots" (adhesive dots) were perfect to make the transparency stick on the other rectangle. The text on the sketch was on the other banner and looked like it was two sizes, so I tried to mimic that. I first glued down a die cut word 'Wish' out from a "Toner Sheet" with the "Deco Foil Clear Toner Sheets - Shattered Glass". After that, I stamped the word big with embossing powder.
After I created the card base, I was doubting to make a coffee card or a pig-birthday card. The last theme won my heart the most and I started coloring the images and placed them on the card.
The last step was to add the little cluster on the left side of the card. I decided to go for stars and hearts cut out from that same "Toner Sheet" with the "Deco Foil Clear Toner Sheets - Shattered Glass". In my opinion, the die cutting with the "Toner Sheet" works best as you first foil a piece of that "Toner Sheet" and later cut your images.
Here you can see how the completed card looks.
Normally I don't work with sketches, I'm really surprised how this turned out! I would love to see your cards and/or layouts!
