Today is the first day of four fabulous “Food for Thought” sew along projects by some of Therm O Web’s fabric designers. We offered four free applique patterns of 10 ½” x 10 ½” unfinished blocks a couple of weeks ago that can be made with fat quarters and/or scraps. Hopefully, your blocks are sewn and ready to use in projects we’re offering during this week. Free patterns are available with a list of supplies and instructions for all four projects. Sweet Shop Quilt

With any of your applique projects, using EZ Print Lite Sheets or Heat n Bond Lite, Iron-on Adhesive will make your work so much easier. Both products have a protective paper that easily peels off when you’re ready to apply the designs. You will love how sweet they are to use! After sewing the quilt top together, sandwich the layers using Spray n Bond Basting Adhesive and Stitch n Sew Fleece Sew-in High Loft/Batting. Protect the area where you will be working by placing an old sheet or paper under and around the area you’ll be spraying. Place the quilt back wrong side up on your working surface. Using the basting spray, spray a few inches across the top portion of the fabric from one edge to the other. Place the batting/fleece on the sprayed surface of the fabric. Smooth ensure it adheres to the sprayed fabric and there are no creases. Continue this method of spraying and smoothing just a few inches at a time until you reach the bottom of the quilt back. Turn over to have fleece/batting facing up. Add quilt front, the wrong side down, to batting using the same spray and smooth method as the backing. Check for creases or folds. Trim edges and square-up quilt. Quilt and bind as desired. Check back each day this week for all the projects you can use the blocks in!
