Stars and Stripes Hat

America the beautiful! When I think of celebrating America I think of the Stars and Stripes of the flag. And my kids walking in the parade and waving the flag. No matter where one sees it, you notice the red, white and blue. It warms my heart and instantly makes me proud of being an American.

To start this project I started with a paper mache hat that I coated with two coats of white paint.

Deco Foil the Hat

While this dried I cut my Deco foil Clear Designers Toner Sheets - Distressed Lines” to 5.5. Next, I made a sandwich of Deco foil - Wild Cherry and Deco foil Clear Designers Toner Sheets - Distressed Lines and ran them through my Minc on setting level 4 twice. I wrapped it around my hat and attached using 3D Zots and trimmed it down to fit on the hat. Then I used a pallet knife and applied Deco foil Metallix Gel - Glazed Pewter to the hat rim. Lastly to finish the project I attached paper straws, stars, and stickers that I felt finished the piece. This is the project is the perfect centerpiece to any celebration.
