“Starry Night” Holiday Home Decor
Using my Misti I stamped out a bunch of last year’s Christmas inspiration box Poinsettia Flower stamps from Brutus Monroe . Then fussy cutting a half a dozen of them, along with the leaves and berries in the set. I often times will make more than I need for a project, in case I mess up or want to experiment with techniques or colors. Using a mixture of water color markers, alcohol makers, colored pencils I colored till I was happy with how the stamped out images came out. Next, I used a bone folder to shape my flowers and added Glitter Glaze in Gold, Scarlett and Fallen Snow.
Then I took a sheet of the ‘Deco Foil Clear Toner Sheets Starry Night’ and layed on top of it ‘Deco Foil Transfer Sheets Shattered Glass-Gold’ . Next place this combination between a folded piece of computer paper and run through the Minc. I usually run it through twice on setting level 4. Then careful pull back the Transfer Sheet and what is left behind is simply stunning. The foil attached itself to where the black star pattern is and leaves behind the clear part of the Toner Sheet. Which makes the perfect ‘Starry Night’
I took the Foiled Toner Sheets and cut them into squares that made the perfect windows. Next, I attached these squares to the back of my ‘door’ using double sided tape, without removing the one side of the backing. Then I attached my Poinsettia flowers, leaves and berries with the Zots size medium and the iCraft Mixed Media Adhesive to attach the watch piece I had in my ‘extra bits’ box of mixed media products. Lastly, I used the iCraft Mixed Media Adhesive in highlighted areas lightly. Then I rubbed with my bone folder just as it dried some ‘Deco Foil Transfer Sheets -Gold’
This project was pretty simple to put together once all of the fussy cutting and coloring was done. Best of all I have a center piece that can also work as a background piece if I am looking for a multilayer decoration. And it is something that will easily work from year to year for years to come.
