Hello! It's Andrea bringing you some St. Patrick's Day inspiration. We probably all know that we can "color" Deco Foil Flock with ink pads and markers, so I got to thinking, why not stencil directly on the flock? We would have the fabulous texture of the flock but with a fun pattern! How fun are that pattern AND texture on the background?! They definitely add to the St. Patrick's Day feel of the card, don't you think? I just love it when a plan comes together!

Stenciling on Deco Foil Flock

To add stability to the flock, I first covered an A2 panel of white cardstock with the Memory Tape Runner XL and then applied Emerald Green Flock Transfer Sheet on top. I sprayed the back of Newton's Nook Designs Plaid Stencil Set with Pixie Spray. I placed the first layer onto the flock panel and blended with Black Soot Distress Ink. I then placed the second stencil layer over the panel and spread Pure Gold Metallix Gel with the Stencil Pal.

Making a Pot of Gold with Gels

Every leprechaun needs a pot of gold. I made mine by die-cutting black cardstock with Whimsy Stamps Build-a-Basket Dies. I secured the die-cut into the negative piece with purple tape on the back. Using a palette knife, I spread Black Ice Metallix Gel over the die-cut. I removed the die-cut from the negative and allowed it to dry. Once the piece was dry, I applied Grass Green Glitz Glitter Gel through a stencil I made with the Build-a-Basket Dies.

Creating Gold Coins with Deco Foil Transfer Sheets

To create the gold coins, I cut a strip of Deco Foil Foam Adhesive, removed the backing from one side, and applied it to the back of a piece of Gold Deco Foil. With the Build-a-Basket Dies, I die-cut seven coins from the foam piece.

Assembling the Card

Once my flock panel was dry, I trimmed it down and adhered it to a white card with the Memory Tape Runner XL. I die-cut a white rectangle with Whimsy Stamps Rounded Rectangles Dies and cut out a rainbow with their Array of Rainbows Dies. I adhered the rainbow to the rectangle with Mixed Media Adhesive and trimmed off the excess. After gold heat-embossing a sentiment from Whimsy's Holiday Occasions set, I affixed the panel to my card with Gina K. Designs Foam Tape. I attached the pot with a bit of Deco Foil Foam Adhesive so that it would have the same dimension as the coins. I removed the other backing piece from the coins and added them to the pot. I colored that adorable leprechaun by Krista Heij-Barber with Copics and cut him out. I adhered him with Gina K. Designs Foam Squares and brushed Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Overlay over the image.
