Hello friends, it’s Karen Pratt with Creamcraftgoods. I’m excited to share three bag pattern kits I designed for Zakka Workshop - Rambler Bag, Hopscotch Bag, and Crossbody Pouchette. Each kit comes with detailed, full photography step-by-step instructions, pattern templates, and the hardware!
When I design bags, I always utilize a foam stabilizer for the outer bag to give the bag stability, body, and shape. I was so excited to use Thermoweb’s newest HeatnBond Versafoam Single Sided Fusible Stabilizer for the bags! It applies smoothly and quilts beautifully.
For this bag panel, I channel quilted here. Look how beautiful it turned out, even the backside is pretty!

I also used the new HeatnBond Versacraft Firm Non-Woven Single Side Fusible for the lining, tabs, handles, and straps. This gives the bag components long lasting stability and structure to each piece.
For this project, I was going for a Springtime look so I chose beautiful floral fabric collections for each bag from Poppie Cotton. Each bag has a pretty floral aesthetic and will complement the Springtime look I am going for this season!
Let’s take a look at each bag!
This is the Rambler Bag. It’s a messenger-style bag and is the perfect size for everyday life. It has a large flap secured by a pretty flower-shaped magnetic snap. There are inner pockets, an adjustable crossbody strap, and a convenient handle too.

The inner pockets are large enough to hold glasses, your wallet, and more!

To give a nice, finished look, I quilted the body and the flap. Versafoam quilts nicely and gives the bag a beautiful, structured finish.
To make this bag, here are the materials I used:

The next bag is the Hopscotch Bag. This is a versatile handbag with multiple pockets. You can use it with the short handles or wear it as a crossbody when you are on-the-go. It also includes the pretty flower-shaped magnetic snap to keep your items secure.

The bag features handy pockets in both the inside and outside of the bag and can hold multiple items!

Here are the materials I used to make this bag:

The last bag is a little cutie called the Crossbody Pouchette. This sweet crossbody purse is perfect for travel, everyday errands, and special events (that require small bags for entry win-win!). It has a zipper and magnetic snap closure, so your things are safely secured inside.

In this pattern kit, I included two design variations (instructions and templates are included) - a color block bottom or fun corner accents. For this bag, I used the corner accent variation.

This purse is little, but it can hold essentials such as your phone, glasses, keys, and a small wallet.

Here’s a trick! I used the new PeelnStick Basting Tape in ⅛” size to baste the zipper. No more pinning! You get a more accurate placement that makes the zipper application and sewing easy and beautifully precise. If you’d like to see how I applied it in detail, head over to my Instagram page to see the video!

I hope you enjoyed the bags I made and decide to make one or all of them too!
