I did a bit of watercoloring on my images today using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. If you're going to watercolor, be sure to use a good waterproof ink and watercolor cardstock, like the supplies I listed above from Ranger. After coloring the images, I die cut them out using some stitched rectangle dies, and popped them onto my card bases using Therm O Web 3D Adhesive Squares for lots of depth and dimension.
I love the vintage look to these sweet papers, and tried to keep up that feel with a bit of shabby inking on all my paper edges. I always think a bit of brown ink adds a feeling of warmth and age to my projects.
On this card, I used foam squares between several of the layers to add lots of great visual depth. I did a bit of craft blade work around the hens feathers to lift her "fingers" up over the sticker. Looks like she's really holding it, doesn't she?
I thought the Vintagy & Fabulous sticker was such a perfect match for the puny sentiments in this stamp set, but since I ran out of room on the front of the card, it gave me the perfect excuse to finish it off on the inside!
I hope I've given you some fun birthday card ideas! Enjoy!
