Soft Succulents with Deco Foil Plush Papers, Transfer Gel and Foils

by Thermoweb on July 07, 2026

Hello crafty friends! Lauren here, (Sonoran Starfish Designs on social media) and I'm thrilled to be writing my first big post as a member of the Therm O Web design team! I'm located in Arizona, so for my project today I thought I'd share a card with some succulents.

I started this project by stenciling Duo Transfer Gel onto a piece of pink cardstock. While that was drying, I die cut pieces of the Screamin' Green, Hello Yellow, and Poppin' Pink Neon Flock Transfer Sheets into the pieces of the succulents.

Using a solid toner card front, I created a solid piece of the Woodgrain DecoFoil to die cut the pieces of the little pots. I did the same with a scrap of the Gold Shattered Glass DecoFoil so that I could die cut the “Happy” sentiment.

Once the Duo Transfer Gel was dry on the pink cardstock, I ran it through my Fuse Foiling Laminator with Gold Shattered Glass to finish off the background. Since the “birthday” sentiment was printed on my laser printer, I was able to foil it in the laminator with Gold Shattered Glass foil as well.

Before assembling my little planters, I used Distress Oxide inks to add shading on the flock plants. On the Hello Yellow pieces I used “Cracked Pistachio”, on the Screamin’ Green pieces I used “Mowed Lawn” and on the tips of the long leaves I used “Seedless Preserves”.

All that was left was the assembly of the pieces with a little help from some Ultra Bond Adhesive and foam squares!

Any other desert-dwellers here? Looking forward to sharing more projects with you!
