Shabby Chic Fabric Tote Bag with HeatnBond Fusible Fleece

by Designer on January 13, 2021
Hi I hope this post finds you all safe and healthy out there. This is Jenifer here with you today to share a fun free pattern that I found and with just a bit of vintage fabric, I found in my stash I put this cute tote together in about an hour. You can never have enough cute bags around to carry your stuff in.

Shabby Chic Tote Bag

Supplies: HeatnBond Light Interfacing Free Sheridan Tote pattern Scraps of fabric, I am using some vintage ticking and a nice shabby floral I had small pieces of in my stash. Webbing for Handles Other supplies: Oliso Iron, Auriful thread, rivets, scissors, clips, pins, rotary cutter Cut out your fabric as directed in the pattern. The ticking I used was very heavyweight and the floral was medium weight, I wanted to even these out so I used my HeatnBond Light Interfacing on the lining and pocket pieces to make them a bit heavier. This will also help keep your pockets stronger so they handle everything that is put into them. Use clips to hold heavy or thick pieces when pins won't work. I recently purchased some rivets. They were easy to install and I really like the finished look they give to the piece. This bag was fun and easy to put together and it will be perfect for taking to the library to collect a few books. Next time I am going to adjust the size and make it a little bit bigger but for now I really love it. Let me know if you make a tote I would love to see it. Stay Safe, Jenifer
