Sewing Travel Tote with HeatnBond Fusible Fleece and Paintbrush Studio Fabric

There are a lot of times I just will borrow ideas from previous bags that I have created to make others. For this bag, these were the supplies that were used. HeatnBond Fusible Interfacing Heavy Weight HeatnBond Fusible Fleece 16″ zipper Aurifil Thread D-Ring Fat Quarters of Wonder from Paintbrush Studio Fabric Oliso Iron

Instructions for Sewing Travel Tote

Cut fabrics ; Sewing Machines- (top) 12 1/2" x 20 1/2" Buttons - (Decorative insert) 2" x 20 1/2" Tape Measure - (bottom) 8 1/2" x 20" Press the button fabric in half lengthwise. This will be just a decorative insert between the layers. Using HeatnBond Fusible Interfacing Heavy Weight or HeatnBond Fusible Fleece iron to both sides of the tote pieces. Cut 2 - 20 1/2" squares for the interior of the bag. Sew the layers together adding a zipper to the top edge of the tote. Use the below as a reference to how it is done. After that is completed, if desired add a magnetic closure to the fold-over and the bottom part of the tote. Sew the outer sides of the tote together. Find the ideal location where the D-rings and straps need to be attached. Sew them in place. Sew the inside of the tote together, leaving enough room to turn the bag right side out. Complete the tote with a strap that is premade or one using coordinating fabrics. Sew them onto the D-ring. Enjoy!
