When I received the beautiful
stitched denim from Nancy's Notions I decided to make a top for me instead of a bag like I had planned. I am so happy that I changed my mind, especially since there was some leftover that I can use to make a bag as well.
Sew a Stylish Chambray Top with HeatnBond Lite Fusible Adhesive
Chambray Top Project Supplies:
Handmade Style by Anna Graham, erasable marking pen, Iron (
Oliso Pro), sewing machine, sharp scissors, other general sewing supplies, 25mm bias tape maker.
[line]Stylish Chambray Top Instructions:
Trace out the pattern pieces for the chambray dress from the Handmade Style book on the Pattern Material. Using the
Pattern Material will make your pattern last longer and hold up for frequent usages. Follow all directions for making the top from the Handmade Style book, please note I shortened the dress by 8" and then had a 1" hem to make the top.
Cuff Instructions:
Although the instructions did not ask for interfacing I wanted my cuffs to hold up and decided to use
HeatnBond® Lite Weight Fusible.
Fuse the
HeatnBond® Lite Weight Fusible to the inside of each of the cuffs to give stability and continue to follow the instructions for the pattern.
