Happy Holidays!!! It's Amanda from Jedi Craft Girl popping in with a quick Christmas gift idea! I love retro Christmas colors of red, pink and green and a pop of silver! This little hoop art has quickly become my new favorite decor item!!
The pop of silver from the Deco Foil™ gives is such a fun retro feel!! This project takes under an hour to make!
Let's get started!
Project Supplies:
10" embroidery hoop
fat quarter for background
Silver Deco Foil™ Transfer Sheets
Deco Foil™ Hot Melt Sheets
Pressing Paper
Heat n Bond® Lite Fusible Adhesive
Sizzix ornament die
Sizzix alphabet die
scraps of fabric
1 yard pom pom trim
Hot glue gun
Die cut the letters FALALA out of the Hot Melt sheets. (You can always print our letters and trace them to the hot melt sheets if you don't have access to a Sizzix machine.)
Fuse the Heat n Bond® lite to the wrong side of the fabric scraps. Die cut the ornaments.
Lay the hoop over the fabric to get an idea of where to place everything. Play around with it until you get it just right!
Peel off the backing paper of the ornaments and heat set in place. Also heat set the letters in place.
Once the letters have cooled, peel off the paper to leave the adhesive remaining.
Place the silver Deco Foil™ Transfer Sheets on top of the letters, topped with a pressing paper. With the iron on medium to medium-high, heat set for about 15 seconds. Let cool completely and then carefully remove the deco foil. It will only stick to the letters! They come out perfect!
Sew around each of the ornaments and add an ornament string by sewing a straight stitch. Center the fabric in the embroidery hoop.
Trim off the excess and hot glue to the hoop.
Hot glue the pom pom trim around the hoop.
It's done and ready to hang!!
