Hi everyone!
This is Kim Lapacek of Persimon Dreams and today I'm going to share with you the fun "Rainbow HashDot Neighborhood" I created which
features fabric from Michael Miller's Hash Dot fabric collection.
This quilt is inspired by my Dresden Neighborhood pattern. The pattern itself makes a circular neighborhood but an attendee at one of my lectures told me how she made hers a vertical neighborhood by rotating the Dresden Plates. I decided to give it a try and I'm thrilled with what that little tweak did!
I am not going to share the exact methods used for this quilt as the pattern tells you what to do. BUT I did make a tweak ... instead of making a circle of houses I flipped the Dresden house groupings. I have four houses in a group so three of the sets are up and two are facing down.

When it was time to quilt this piece, I basted it with StitchNSew Sew-In Fleece and used SprayNBond Basting Adhesive to hold the three layers together.
I used three different 50 wt Aurifil threads for quilting this piece - 2520, 2785 and 4060.
We finally had some decent weather so I finished the binding and quilt sleeves while I watched my kids outside in our orchard.
Creating a rainbow Dresden Neighborhood like the one above would be very easy for a quilt shop to create a kit of fabric for! That would be a great way to promote the use of the gorgeous Michael Miller Hashdot fabric collection.
