Hi! It’s Lisa Ruble from Quilty Zest and I’ve got a red, white and blue project to share with you today! With America’s 250th celebration, patriotic quilts and decor are popping up everywhere, so I decided to make my own.
I combined stars, stripes, my Refresh fabric and the quilt-as-you-go method to create this patriotic door quilt. I hope you’ll join me in the Therm O Web Craft Room Facebook Group on Wednesday, June 24th at 7:30 pm CDT to learn how to make it.

Here’s the advantage of quilt-as-you-go: you’ll finish this project sooner because you won’t put off the machine quilting! I ultimately added more machine quilting on top, but with the quilt-as-you-go method, you can use a pillowcase finish and skip the binding as well.
And if appliqued letters aren’t your thing, I’ve included a larger star in the templates as well so you can skip the word and just use one large star.
Here’s what you’ll need: (I used my Refresh fabrics for Benartex*)

Join me for some fun red, white and blue sewing - plus a demonstration of the quilt-as-you-go technique!
Don’t forget to join the Therm O Web Facebook Group prior to our live by clicking here and answering the questions to join! - Lisa
