Ombre Birthday Cards with Deco Foil Flock

Welcome back to our blog! Today it's me, Ellen, taking over the ThermOWeb blog with two Ombre birthday cards made with Flock. Ombre means that there is a dark to light effect, whereby the colors gradually change from one to another. Below I created a blue and a green card.

Blue Ombre Birthday Card

I started with a regular card base that I covered up with a layered background plate set. As I already told I used background plates with the flock. To get a soft flock layer, it is best to transfer the flock to double-sided adhesive foam first. You do this by peeling off the front side of the foam and placing the flock (color side down) on top of it. Then you put the sandwich true a die-cutting machine to give it pressure. Next, you remove the leftover (the rest of the flocked sheet) from the foam. As the last step, you cut your desired shape/design out of the piece of flocked foam (also with the help of a die-cutting machine). In this case, I used the "Blue Sky" and "Blue Diamond" Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets. I also used flock (Sunshine Yellow) for the word 'Happy'. I finished the card with glitter paper and a butterfly stamp.

Green Ombre Birthday Card

On the green card, I even used 3 layers of the flock. Like the blue card, I transferred the flock onto the foam. As you can see, just like above, your cutting machine can cut all the fine and smallest elements out of the flocked foam perfectly!! It's really magnificent! Again I used glitter, butterflies, and a flocked (Black Velvet) happy word to complete the card. If I had more time I would make a rose card too! Have you tried creating a flocked Ombre card?
