Ombre Birthday Cards with Deco Foil and Reverse Confetti's Party Pals

by Thermoweb on February 26, 2021
Hello there! It's Andrea back with you to share some fun, ombre, birthday cards using Toner Card Fronts and Deco Foil.

Ombre Birthday Cards

Both cards feature an adorable critter from Reverse Confetti's Party Pals set. I colored each with Copics and fussy-cut them. But the stars of these cards have to be those Toner Card Fronts and that sparkly Deco Foil!

Bunny Birthday Shaker Card

My first card combines the Lots of Dots Toner Card Fronts with Distress Oxides. Don't those sparkly dots just scream birthday?!! Once my laminator was nice and hot, I ran the Lots of Dots Toner Card Front through it with Silver Shattered Deco Foil. I just love how sparkly this foil is and the different colors it takes on! Next, I ink blended the panel with four colors of Distress Oxide: Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon, Broken China, and Faded Jeans. I started at the bottom of the panel blending with Tumbled Glass and took the color up about 3/4's of the way. With the subsequent colors, I began at the bottom and shortened how far up I went to achieve that ombre effect. I then die-cut the panel with a scalloped die and adhered it to a white card with the Memory Tape Runner XL. Using MFT's Happy Birthday Circle Frame Die-namics, I die-cut red glitter cardstock once and white cardstock five times. I die-cut a circle from a Deco Foil Clear Designer Toner Sheet and adhered it behind the red die-cut with Mixed Media Adhesive. After layering the white die-cuts together, I affixed them to the red one. After placing my shaker bits inside the layered die-cut, I covered them with a circle cut from vellum and attached the shaker to my card. I adhered to that adorable bunny with Mixed Media Adhesive and brushed clear sparkle over the cupcake.

Bear with Gifts Shaker Card

My second card showcases the Unity Gifts A Plenty Toner Card Fronts and three shades of Deco Foil. These gifts were perfect for that ombre look! I trimmed strips from three shades of Deco Foil - Pink Quartz, Pink Melon, and Wild Cherry - and tacked them together with Purple Tape. After transferring the foil with my laminator, I cut out the center of the panel with my scissors. I adhered a piece of Deco Foil Clear Designer Toner Sheet to the back with Mixed Media Adhesive. For more ombre effect, I blended a panel of white cardstock with Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxides. I attached that cute bear to the panel with Mixed Media Adhesive. I placed 3D Foam Strips on the back of the foiled panel (There's no need to double-up foam tape with these strips!), added sequins to the ink-blended panel, and covered them with the foiled one. I adhered the shaker to a white card with Gina K. Designs Terrific Tape. I had a white frame leftover from another project and, after coloring it with a Copic marker, adhered it to the card with Mixed Media Adhesive. I white heat-embossed a sentiment from Party Pals onto a die-cut banner and popped it up onto my card with Gina K. Designs Black Foam Squares.
