No Sew Noel Banner with Benzie Design

by Jen Belnap on July 25, 2025
Hi friends! It is Jen Belnap from Jen Belnap Design House. I LOVE Christmas! I was thrilled when I got the opportunity to participate in our collaboration with Benzie Design and share some Christmas in July! I have always been drawn to the traditional red and white Christmas. I love Scandinavian designs, especially for the holidays. This 'no sew' banner is perfect to bring a little bit of Scandi into your home for the holidays. And since it is July, you will have plenty of time to complete this before Christmas! Benzie felt, heatnbond supplies for Noel banner Supplies you will need: Thermoweb HeatnBond Ultrahold Benzie Felt in red and white Oliso Iron Cutterpillar light box Benzie felt pom poms in white Benzie felt pom poms Scandinavian stitched in red Noel and flag pattern Noel SVG Start first by downloading the Noel pattern. The Noel SVG is for an electric cutting machine like the Silhouette or Cricut. Or you can use a light box like my Cutterpillar one and use the Noel PDF. Keep in mind the letters are the mirror image on the PDF. This is so they will lay the right way when cut out! Using the Cutterpillar light box, trace the Noel letters onto the paper side of the HeatnBond Ultrahold. Using the Oliso iron, press to the wrong side of the red felt. (Use manufacture's instructions for pressing). Then cut out each of the letters on the traced line. Next, cut out the flags. Using the PDF pattern, cut out four felt flags from the white felt. After the flags have been cut out, take the HeatnBond paper backing off of the letters. Then using your Oliso iron, press the letters to the flags. Make sure to place them exactly where you want, once they are pressed, they will not move! [caption id="attachment_99759" align="aligncenter" width="267"] Threading the felt balls[/caption] This is the fun part! Take your embroidery floss and your needle and thread your felt balls through. Make sure to try and go through the center of the felt balls. I made up a pattern of white/scandi/white and then I would sew through the banner to attach it. I added some extra felt balls to the beginning and the end. Then you are finished! This is seriously such a fun and fast project! Thanks for following along today! If you would like to see more of what I am up to, make sure to follow me on Instagram and sign up for my super cool emails! I have giveaways, quilt alongs, great sewing deals! You don't want to miss it! Happy sewing! Jen
