Mixing pattern paper with Toner Card fronts and Transfer Foils

by Shemaine Smith on June 15, 2026

Hello Therm O Web friends! Shemaine here today, and I am going to share with you just how easy it is to create handmade cards using our Toner Card fronts and transfer foils with your patterned papers and floral cutting dies.

For both cards, I used Gina K Foil Mates Bountiful Flourish and Summer Rainbow transfer foils. Once I foiled these, I used some flower dies to cut out the negative image of the flowers. Then I used patterned paper to cut the thinner overlay die of the flower design.

Next, I grabbed some pattern papers from Kingston Crafts and adhered them to the card base off-center to create a playful background for the flowers.

After I used our 3D foam squares to adhere them, I added some coordinating bling. I finished them off with a Mama Elephant Sentiment die.

The finished card was really easy to assemble.

For the second card, I just switched up the colors! I cut the flowers with the opposite color from the first card.

And mixed up the background colors from the first card. I arranged them differently on the card base and used the bigger polkadot background.

I also arranged the pattern papers differently on the second card and adhered them with our XL Adhesive runner.

The finished card also has bling in the center of the flowers. Look how the foiled toner card front pops from behind the solid pattern paper. So fun!

And these cards are also a perfect way to use your stash of scraps and patterned papers.

So quick and easy! I hope you’ll give this technique a try!

Have a creative day!
