Be Mine Deco Foil Shadow Box Tutorial

by Shemaine Smith on February 08, 2017
Hello there! Shemaine here today with a fun Valentine gift idea or just something sweet to decorate your home. I found this free printable here while browsing Pinterest. I have found several Deco foil™ worthy images there that are free and easy to print. I thought it would be great to use this image to try printing on vellum. Feb5aTW

Be Mine Deco Foil Shadow Box Instructions:
Feb5b Printing this image onto vellum was a snap. I loaded it into my toner printer just like paper. Now we're ready to foil the image using the DECO FOIL™ TRANSFER SHEETS • GOLD. Feb5c Take the printed image along with the color of foil of your choice...place it wrong side down...color side up onto the printable. Then using a piece of parchment paper or copy paper, fold that in half, place the items in and then into the laminator. After running the items through a laminator, peel off the Deco Foil Transfer Sheet to reveal the foiled design. Once I foiled the image, I cut it to the size I wanted since the image does come with an outline. Then I mounted the foiled vellum onto watercolor cardstock because it's a little thicker than regular cardstock and looks nice. Feb5d Choosing gold the gold glitter cardstock to adhere the image to makes the image have a 3D effect and looks bright. Use a couple ZOTS™ SINGLES • MEDIUM to adhere the felt heart over the printed one on the image and pop the foiled image off the glitter paper with some 3D WHITE FOAM SQUARES • COMBO PACK. I used another piece of watercolor paper as my background and adhere the finished image to the middle using SUPERTAPE™ ROLL • 1/4 IN. . Feb5e Turn the shadow box face down and sprinkle as many foam hearts as you like. Add other items you think would be cute too. Then secure the back and flip over for your finished project. Feb5aTW Here's how the project looks on my bookcase I decorated for Valentine's Day. Cute right? I hope you enjoyed this project today. Shemaine
