Embellishing the T-Shirt:
Step 1 Trace the word "Merry," one large tree and two small trees onto the paper side of HeatnBond Lite Sewable.
Step 2 Cut out the traced shapes beyond the drawn lines. Fuse onto the wrong side of fabric.
Step 2 Carefully cut out each shape.
Step 3 Center the word and trees on the shirt front and fuse in place. Use Pressing Paper to protect your iron.
Step 4 Cut a piece of Lightweight Fusible Interfacing larger than your appliquéd design and fuse onto the wrong side of the t-shirt, making sure the interfacing extends beyond the design. This will make it easier to zig zag stitch the shapes without the t-shirt stretching or puckering. Using an open foot for your sewing machine and a zigzag stitch, carefully sew around the edges of each shape to secure. I used black thread that blended with both the fabric and the t-shirt.
This is what the inside of my t-shirt looks like, with the stitching through the fusible interfacing.
That’s it! Turn your shirt right side out and put it on. Enjoy your holiday season with your new festive shirt!
