First up is a mini quilt I made that measures 32 x 32". It is made entirely of half-square triangles (and whole squares) that I made using the "4 at a time" method.
I cut squares of fabric 7" and with right sides together, stitched around the outside of the square. Then I cut two lines, one on each diagonal, to get four half-square triangles. I trimmed each to 4 1/2".
For this quilt, you will need the following combinations of colors:
The center green square is 8 1/2", the smaller squares are 4 1/2", and the HST are done with the "4 at a time" method. I cut squares of fabric 7" and with right sides together, stitched around the outside of the square. Then I cut two lines, one on each diagonal, to get four half-square triangles. For the inside batting, I just used the HeatnBond® High Loft Fusible Fleece. I simply ironed it to my quilt front, then used some SprayNBond® Basting Spray.
I quilted with simple lines on the diagonal through the center of the squares and did my binding in grey.
Since I was working with fat quarters, I did a little bit of patchwork on the front pockets. I started by making tubes of strips, ripping apart the seams between different colors, and sewing into patchwork blocks. Each pocket front unfinished was 8 1/2" square.
I and used different pieces for the inside linings and pocket linings, again because I was limited to fat quarters.
The navy squares are 4 1/2" and are sewn 4 across and 3 down. The pockets and the bag are quilted with Heat N Bond® Non-Woven Extra Firm Fusible Interfacing. I wanted to make sure the tote was nice and padded! There is even a little pocket on the inside, too.
To help adhere my block to the background hoop fabric, I used SprayNBond® Basting Spray, but you could also use HeatNBond® Fusible Spray as well.
A close up of my fussy cutting, and I used Wonderfil Thread for some hand quilting, too.
I can't wait to see what the entire booth looks like with all the Manderley projects from the team! Thanks again, Moda!
