Hi! I have a really fun card to share with you today! I used stamps and dies from Pink & Main and a bunch of
ThermOWeb products including
Glitz Glitter Gel,
Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets, and
Deco Foil Transfer Gel DUO!
Magical Birthday Card with Deco Foil DUO

I love using stencils to create a background. There's so much you can do with them! Today I decided to use two different mediums with one stencil to create a fun glittery and textured background. I sprayed some
Pixie Spray on the back of a triangle stencil and tacked it onto a piece of heavyweight cardstock. I tore off pieces of
1.5" Purple Tape and masked off about half of the triangles in the stencil. I didn't use any real "rhyme or reason" to my masking - I just knew I wanted to leave half off the triangles open and half masked off. Once all of my masking was done I used a
Stencil Pal and applied
Deco Foil Transfer Gel DUO over the stencil. I easily peeled off the stencil and the
Purple Tape I used for masking and set my background aside to dry for a while.
Deco Foil Flock
Once the
Deco Foil Transfer Gel DUO was completely clear I trimmed down a piece of
Teal Waters Deco Foil Flock and placed it pretty side DOWN into the
DUO Gel and ran the piece through my die cutting machine. The pressure of the die-cutting machine transfers the
Deco Foil Flock into the
DUO Gel and when I peeled away the
Flock Transfer Sheet I have pretty texture left where I applied the
DUO Gel on my card.
If you watch my video tutorial above you'll see that I had a moment of panic when I peeled away the
Flock Transfer Sheet from my card. I had little pieces of flock stuck to my background where it wasn't supposed to be. It adhered to the
Pixie Spray residue on my background and at first, I thought my card was ruined, but when I rubbed my fingers over my background the little bits of leftover flock rubbed away and the flock adhered to the
DUO Gel remained intact. Hooray!
Purple Tape to Mask
Once my background was cleaned up I replaced the stencil over my card base exactly where it was originally. I used pieces of
Purple Tape to mask off the portions of the stencil where the
Teal Waters Deco Foil Flock was showing. I used a
Stencil Pal and some
Brilliant Blue Glitz Glitter Gel to add glitter to the rest of my background. I love that when I peeled away the stencil I had a two-toned background! Half with
Deco Foil Flock and the other half with
Glitz Glitter Gel!
Adhere with Ultra Bond Liquid
I colored some images from the
Pink & Main Life is a Circus stamp set and die cut them with the
coordinating dies and added them to my card with iCraft Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive. Of course, the background wasn't enough texture and shine for me! Haha! Then I decided to use some foil for my sentiment. I adhered a piece of an
iCraft 6x6 Adhesive Sheet to a piece of cardstock and added some
Green Sketch Brutus Monroe Deco Foil face UP over the adhesive to transfer the foil onto the cardstock. Once the foil adhered to my cardstock I die cut it with the
Pink & Main Magical word die. I hope you love this card and that it inspires you to use multiple mediums to create a background! See you soon!
