Hey there, friends! Missy here, and today I'm sharing a layout featuring the DecoFoil Transfer Gel. We're smack dab in the middle of Summer, and I love creating Summer layouts! We're celebrating Bikini Day today, so I wanted to create a fun clothes line of hanging swim suits as my main design element. I found all these fun suit cut files in the Silhouette Store. I cut them on a sheet of the White Gina K. Designs Premium Cardstock and then used a palette knife to coat them with the DecoFoil Transfer Gel. Once they dried, I ran each of them through my laminator using the Deco Foil Transfer Sheets and Gina K. Designs Fancy Foils. The results were amazing! Such shiny and bright swimsuits!

Summer Life Bikini Layout Instructions:

The foiled look gives such a great effect, and it really brightens up the layout. I created an artsy background using clear gesso and some watercolor paints. I used some plastic packaging to smudge the paint around and a paint brush to create splatters. I used blue up at the top to create a sky, yellow in the middle to create a sunny area and then pink at the bottom for an extra fun color. I layered some pink patterned paper behind my photos and used a few fun embellishments from Pebbles & Simple Stories. I used the Champagne iCraft Deco Foil Transfer Sheet on the clothes line and pins. Here's the Lime iCraft Deco Foil Transfer Sheet with Blue flowers from the Teal iCraft Deco Foil Transfer Sheet. The Transfer Gel is so versatile because you can use it in several ways. I just used it directly on the cardstock here, and even though I used a palette knife to coat the cardstock, the end result is still very smooth and shiny. Here I layered in a few more stickers and some tangled thread. I love how it looks like the photos are hanging from the clothes line as well. I love how this Gina K. Designs Fancy Foil in Passionate Pink turned out. To create the clothes pins, I used the DecoFoil Liquid Adhesive. You do not need a laminator to use that. It's like a liquid glue, and you squeeze it wherever you want it and let it dry completely. Then you place the foil on top of it (foil side up) and rub your finger over it firmly. When you peel the foil back, you get a beautiful coated shape. My clothes pins look totally hand made and imperfect, and I love how they turned out! I glued everything down with the iCraft Mixed Media Adhesive, which is a very strong liquid glue. I fussy cut that "hello sunshine" piece from a Simple Stories paper, added some thread behind it and then machine stitched through it with metallic gold thread. Here's another look at the beautiful pink foil. It really looks so pretty when you move it around in the light. Here I also added a flair button, some small golden yellow alphas and a white puffy sticker. I used a fun cloud cut file from The Cut Shoppe to create all these fun clouds. I used a few cloud stickers from Pebbles as well. I hope this inspires you to give the Deco Foil™ Transfer Gel a try. It's a lot of fun, and it really is like magic watching the foil adhere to it.
