For this project I found a nice font on my computer and printed it at a large size and traced it onto my HeatNBond® Lite. From here you Iron your image or font onto your fabric and cut it out. After it is cut out Iron it onto your project.
With a project this size I wanted to use up some of my StitchNSew™ Sew-In Fleece scraps. I used the HeatNBond® Batting Tape to connect my 2 pieces together.
This Batting tape makes it super easy to connect 2 or more pieces of batting together by ironing, keeping a nice flat connection completely undetectable when quilting.
I have been reading some quilting books by the fabulous Angela Walters and her approach to machine quilting is fantastic. She says to not worry about it to much and just go with it, there will always be another quilt to quilt. So with that advise I quilted some fun hearts and loops into my quilt. I am pleased with how it turned out, with a little my practice I can see where I would use this again.
Our design team is now being sponsored by Aurifil Threads and I received some wonderful Aurifil Lana wool thread in this beautiful pink/red color. I put it into my machine and sewed slowly and got this beautiful thick echo heart. It gives the quilt depth and I love that it almost looks like yarn.
