Hi everyone! Carla here from Creatin' in the Sticks. I make lots of quilts with pre-cuts and love how quickly those projects can be made. However, what I have a lot of is scraps from those projects. Here is a fun way to use those leftover jelly roll strips - Fabric Key Chains. They go together in a snap and make great little gifts too. Let's get started.
HEATnBOND® FUSIBLE Medium Weight Interfacing
2 - 2 1/2" x 14" strips of fabric (Tula Pink Jelly Roll)
1 - key ring
1 - 1" D ring
Aurifiil 50 wt. thread (#2540)
Iron (I love my Oliso) and pressing surface
sewing machine
sharp scissors
other general sewing supplies
Fold the fabric strip again to encase the raw edges and press. The strip's measurement is about 1" x 14". Slide the D ring onto the strip.
Now, refold the strip and press to form a loop with the D ring still in place.
Stitch another line of stitching in the middle of the strip loop.
Finally, add the keyring to the D ring.
These are so nice to hold on your wrist. Once you make one, you will have to make a bunch.
Have fun making them and giving them away!
Carla
