Happy Camper Cards with Foil and Plush Papers!

by Jessica Michaels on May 08, 2026

Hi friends! Jessica here! 😊

If you've got a pile of birthdays coming up and need cards that look like you put in way more effort than you did, this one's for you. I'm sharing how I used Therm O Web's foil and plush papers with the Catherine Pooler Trail Mix collection to make a batch of birthday cards that are fun, textured, and totally repeatable once you get your system going.

  1. I needed a stack of birthday cards fast — lots of nieces and nephews with back-to-back birthdays coming up. I grabbed the camper dies from Catherine Pooler and the Trail Mix collection, then decided to lean into the outdoorsy vibe by layering in some texture and sparkle using Therm O Web's foil and plush papers.
  2. I die cut the camper pieces I wanted to foil from Deco Foil Toner Card Fronts, then sandwiched the layers and Gina K Sky Blue foil between a craft and carrier sheet and ran them through my Fuse Foiling Laminating System — out came the sparkly goodness!

  1. For the card fronts, I ink blended some layers and stenciled mountains on top.
  2. For the mountain peaks, I applied Fuse Foiling Gel and let it dry completely clear, then ran the panel back through the laminator with white velvet plush paper for a fuzzy snow-cap effect.
  3. I used soft stone Plush Paper for the curtains and doors on the campers to add a subtle tactile detail, then assembled all the camper pieces with Mixed Media Adhesive, which dries clear and keeps everything clean.
  4. I popped the campers up with Gina K 3D foam squares for dimension.
  5. I adhered all the layers together with ½" Easy Tear Tape and the Memory XL Tape Runner and stamped a sentiment inside each card.

  1. These came together so quickly once I had a system going — the foiling and plush steps look impressive but are genuinely easy once you try them. Head over to my YouTube channel to see the full process!
