Hiya ThermOWeb fans, Suzanna here to share with you a game night layout, in keeping with the theme of the week. But before I share my layout with you, I have a question. I'm curious. When you hear "game night", do you think football or board game? This spurred a long debate in my household. Not having grown up here in the US, game night to me means board games. However, I now realize, it generally references football to most Americans.
ThermOWeb Flock transfer sheets and Foil transfer sheets feature on this layout and serve as the most eye-catching adornments of this layout about my son and his Grandmother, my Mother in Law, playing a board game together.
ThermOWeb Supplies;
First things first, the title. The title is created like a mosaic in order to re-create the board of a board game. Think the colored tiles of Candyland. Each letter was cut whole from one of four different colors of Flock Transfer sheet and then "tiles" or pieces were hand-cut. Each of these tiles was then laid down on a white letter. It's much easier to see how I did that in the video below. Before cutting the flock, I backed the sheets with Easy-Cut Adhesive for ease of sticking the pieces down.
Next up I created the game tokens. These were created with 5 different foils; gold on Maker Forte Sunrise Lake, Silver on Moonlit Lake, and bronze on bronze to create 3 different "value" tokens. For the depth of the top layer, I backed the PeelNStick Toner Sheets with Gina K 110lb Premium Cardstock. This created a nice thick yet cuttable layer for the "ribbing" of the token. Again, best seen in the video below.
Depth and dimension are something I love on my layouts and I just love how the flock and foil provide texture and dimension. I also love using iCraft double-sided foams to layer embellishments for more depth. Like I did with the overlapping die in the photo above. That fold-out flap with the journaling underneath is possible thanks to 1/4 inch Gina K double-sided tape. So many great products for all your memory-keeping needs!
