Foiled Watermelon Inspired by Lisa's Fabric Squares

Hello crafty friends! Lauren here, bringing you a sweet summer treat card featuring lots of shiny foil. I was watching Lisa Ruble’s livestream on the Therm-O-Web Craft Room Facebook page on July 22nd, where she made the cutest watermelon squares with fabric. I was inspired to craft along but use foil and paper instead! 

1. First I used “Disco” DecoFoil on one of the toner card fronts from the “Harvest Texture” pack, and “Ocean Hearts” DecoFoil on a card front from the “Fresh Florals” pack.

2. Then I used pieces of toner sheets with “Electric Lime” (Shades of Green Color Harmony pack), “Sparkling Silver” and “Crimson Shattered Glass” (Shades of Red Color Harmony pack) DecoFoils. This gave me solid sheets of foiled cardstock.

3. Using the solid sheets, I scrounged items in my craft room to use for tracing 3 different circle sizes. You can absolutely use circle nesting dies, but I wanted really big circles! I hand-cut the circles and was left with the watermelon layers that I could stack together with Ultra Bond adhesive.

4. After slicing the watermelon into quarters, I drew some seed shapes on the back of a Black Velvet Plush Paper sheet and fussy cut them out. Ultra Bond tacked them onto the slices perfectly!

5. To finish off the two cards, I stamped two sentiments from the “Sweet Stuff” collaboration stamp ‘n’ stencil set designed by Rina K and used some foam squares to give the watermelon slices and sentiments some dimension!
