Flock and Glitz Glitter Gel Monogram Zipper Pouch

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today to share my flocked zipper pouch. Around the holidays I saw that Anthropology had these super cute velvet monogram pouches (they no longer have them) so I decided to try making one. Therm O Web has all these amazing colors of Deco Foil flock so I wanted to test and see if the flock would work on fabric and I am here to tell you that it does :)

Monogram Zipper Pouch

Supplies needed: Deco Foil Flock Sky Blue Gina K Glitz Glitter Gel - Turquoise Sea Deco Foil Transfer Gel Crafter's Edge The Crossover II Crafter's Edge Posey Flower Set 1 Heat N Bond Craft Ultrahold Fusible Adhesive Heat N Bond Fusible Fleece Blend Fabrics scraps from Cori Dantini, Chelsea Market and Ana Griffin Oliso mini iron Aurifil Floss 6722, 2835 and Thread 2021 Other, Beads, zipper, scissors and canvas

Deco Foil Transfer Gel

Apply a nice thick layer of the Deco Foil Transfer Gel, I just used a paintbrush and let it dry. I waited for about an hour.

Diecut The Flowers

While the Gel is drying I cut out my flowers using the Crossover II. This is an awesome machine, I am so happy with it and I have had no problem cutting out multiple layers of fabric and paper even with the thin dies. Playing around with the placement of my flowers.

Apply the flock

Now that the Transfer Gel is dry you put the fleece face up with the gel face down between a sheet of parchment paper. I ironed on high for a few minutes taking it off and placing it back on. This is what it looks like when you remove the flock from the fabric. How cool is that? There were some pencil marks from drawing out my letter that I wanted to cover up so I took a paintbrush and the Glitz glitter gel and outlined the flock. I really like the contrast. I hand stitched the leaves, flowers and beads to the bag. A close up of the flowers. Here is my finished pouch. I am really happy with how it turned out and I think it would make for some beautiful gifts. I am going to fill this one with some candies and give it to a friend for valentines day.
