Farmhouse Patriotic Pillow

Hi! It's Jen from The Smitten Chicken. Today I get to share with you a fun Farmhouse Patriotic pillow. I love the Farmhouse style thanks to Joanna Gaines! This pillow will add to your Farmhouse decor, just in time for the 4th of July. Do you want to make one too?

Farmhouse Patriotic Pillow

Supplies you will need: HeatnBond Ultrahold Oliso Iron Aurifil Thread 1776 mirror image OR 1776 SVG file White fabric Black fabric Zipper Pillow form (10"x 18") First, you need to construct the pillow top. You can follow the above pattern for the construction of the pillow top. I used a 10"x 18" pillow form. So the pattern is based on that.

Quick Sewing Pillow Instructions

Sew both A pieces to either side of the pillow front and press. Remember to use a 1/4" seam allowance. Sew both B pieces to the top and bottom of the pillow front and press. You now have the black frame sewn onto the pillow. Sew both C pieces to the edges and press. Now sew the D pieces to the top and bottom of the pillow and press. Once your pillow top is completed, you will need to finish the pillow. I chose to finish my pillow with a zipper finish. I followed Alli's tutorial on how to install a zipper on a pillow. Next, you will need to cut out the numbers. You can use the pattern here or if you have an electronic cutter, you can use the SVG file here. If you are using the pattern, you need to trace the numbers on the paper side of the HeatnBond. Tip: the numbers will be the mirror image! This keeps the numbers facing the right way! Then, you need to prepare the fabric. Press the HeatnBond to the wrong side of the fabric as stated in the manufacture's instructions. Then cut your numbers out, either by hand or with your electronic cutter. I used the SVG file and cut the numbers out with my Silhouette. Once the numbers are cut out, place them where you would like and press! And you are DONE! Since we used HeatnBond UltraHold, there is no sewing! Just press and done! Now you have a super cute Farmhouse Patriotic Quilt! Thanks for following along today! If you would like to see more, you can check out my Blog, Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest! Chirp Out!
