Facebook Live: Spring Inspiration Tulip Twist

by Lisa Ruble on April 22, 2026

Hi Friends! It’s Lisa Ruble from Quilty Zest, and I’m celebrating tulip season!

Here in Michigan, the April temperatures fluctuate between the 30s and the 80s (and sometimes both in a 24-hour period!), so it’s hard to actually define “spring.” But when the tulips start to bloom, I know that spring is here, regardless of the thermometer!

I decided to make a tulip wall hanging/door quilt using some of the spring-y colors from my Nature Unfiltered fabric collection from Benartex. Here’s what I came up with:

This small quilt measures 16” x 20”, and I made it in an afternoon! I hope you’ll join me in the Therm O Web Craft Room Facebook Group tonight April 22 at 7:30 PM CDT to learn how to make it!

I created half-rectangle units for the background of each tulip for a little added interest, and I’ll be talking about how to make those, as well as how to add the appliqued tulips.

Here’s a look at the materials I used: (I used my Nature Unfiltered fabrics)
Fat eighth each: Leaflets Coral and Sunshine Yellow

Fat Quarter each: Puddles Cloud and Puddles Aqua

3/8 yard Treeline Aqua

HeatnBond Lite Sewable

HeatnBond Light Weight Interfacing

HeatnBond Fusible Fleece

SpraynBond Basting Adhesive

Pressing Paper

Don’t forget to join the Therm O Web Facebook Group prior to our live by clicking here and answering the questions to join!

Hope to see you tonight!
