Facebook Live: Orange Peel Applique Placemats

by Lisa Ruble on November 12, 2025
Hi! It's Lisa Ruble from Quilty Zest and I'm here with a project to brighten your holiday table - new placemats! These placemats are made using the orange peel block. This block can be made using curved piecing or some fancy folding techniques. Or...you can make it the easy way using raw edge fusible applique! I will be showing how to make these in my next Facebook Live in the Therm O Web Craft Room Facebook Group. Join me tonight November 12th, at 7:30 PM CST, as I share how to sew an Orange Peel Placemat. I made my sample using my Find Your Way fabrics from Benartex (love those teals, oranges and yellows together!), but during the Live I'll be making this more Christmas-y version (scroll to the bottom to see it). Watch the video replay here! Here's what you'll need to make (2) placemats: Download the template here. I hope you can join me for the Facebook Live! Don’t forget to join the Therm O Web Facebook Group prior to our live by clicking here and answering the questions to join!   Here's my Orange Peel Holiday Wreath, made using the 6" templates. To make it, you'll need (4) 6-1/2" background squares and green and red scraps. Watch the video to learn more about how to make it.
