Double Foiling with Foil Mates and Transfer Gel Duo

Hello crafty friends! Lauren here, bringing you a fun way to add an extra punch of shine to your foiled card fronts! This technique gives you a double layer and two potential cards with not a drop of wasted foil.

1. I started with one of the Foil Mates toner card fronts from the “Harvest Texture” pack, and put it through my Foil Fuse laminator with the “Disco” foil from the “Shades of Gold” color harmony pack. Always remember that the colored foil side goes up when foiling! I pre-heated my laminator to setting 3.

2. After peeling the foil off the card front, I took out one of the White Poly Glaze sheets and applied the peeled piece, running it through the laminator with the color side up. **TIP: I usually run the regular toner card fronts through my machine on heat setting 3, but turn it up to heat setting 4 for the polyglaze sheets**

3. After peeling the remainder of the foil plastic off the Poly Glaze sheet, I had two panels with the gorgeous design and no wasted foil! You could, of course, stop here, but I decided to take it another step further.

4. I stenciled the Transfer Gel Duo onto both card fronts and allowed it to fully dry. I prefer to hold my panel and stencil together with pink tape instead of risking it moving around!

5. For the original card front, I ran it through the Fuse Foil Laminator with “Teal” DecoFoil.

6. For the card front that was made with the Poly Glaze sheet, it's important not to run it through the laminator, because the foil will not only stick to the stenciled gel but also to any exposed white space! Instead, I used my fingers to burnish “Raspberry Jam” DecoFoil (from the “Shades of Red Color Harmony pack) onto the stenciled gel.

7. To add sentiments, I foiled a solid toner card front with “Gold” DecoFoil and die cut the lettering. I also printed the smaller sentiment words on my laser printer and foiled them in my Fuse machine.

8. For a fun bonus, I used the peeled piece of “Teal” foil that had gone through the laminator, and used it on a solid black toner card front! The sheets of Disco and Teal foil ended up with zero waste.
