Thermoweb Supplies you will need:
HeatnBond UltraHold Fusible Adhesive
Other Supplies you will need:
Felt (yardage for the skirt and one sheet for the poodle)
Poodle skirt pattern (I used McCall's 5439)
Elastic
Ribbon
Pom-poms
Glue
Iron
Sewing machine
My pattern called for 2 1/8 yards of fabric. Make sure you have enough!
Then comes the fun part, the poodle!
First, trace the poodle applique onto the paper side of the HeatnBond.
[tooltip text="TooltipText"]Tip: Trace the mirror-image of the applique. That way your poodle will be facing the way you need him to.[/tooltip]
Next, iron the HeatnBond to the wrong side of the felt. (I used a cloth while pressing so as not to scorch the felt!)
Then peel the paper backing off of the poodle (as stated in the HeatnBond instructions). Place the poodle where you like on the skirt and press. Since I chose to use the Ultra Hold there is NO sewing! That poodle is not going anywhere!
Last, decorate your poodle as you wish. I chose to glue on pom-poms, a button eye, and a bow!
And you are done! Isn't that poodle so cute?
This was seriously the fastest Halloween costume I have ever made!
This costume is also daughter approved! Win-win!
