DIY Foiled Easter Treat Boxes (with Super Tape!)

Easter will be here before you know it. These DIY paper matchboxes make great favors for Easter, or any celebration. They also are the perfect size to hold a gift card. The secret to their sturdy construction is not a bird, nor a plane, but Super Tape! Because these boxes will be pulled in and out many times, I wanted to use one of our strongest adhesives. In particular, the ribbon loop pull needs to be secured firmly to prevent the ribbon from coming out. After die cutting the base, Super Tape™ was placed around the edges, flaps, and under both ends of the ribbon. Remove the red liner and adhere the flaps in place to attach the sides and then fold down the edges. This results in a very sturdy box with a finished interior - all ready to fill up with goodies. To create the foiled sentiment, die cut a piece of Deco Foil™ PeelnStick Toner Sheets, cut a piece of foil slightly larger than the shape, place in a protective carrier (parchment works great), and then run through a laminator. Peel up the foil transfer sheet to reveal the shiny result. These were placed over a window that was die cut in the exterior of the matchbox. Die cut the slider portion from paper (this is a perfect project for using up larger paper scraps). To create the window, die cut a circle slightly smaller than the width of the front panel. Cut a piece of heavy duty craft plastic to fit the inside of the front panel and secure with Super Tape, as shown. Use another piece of Super Tape™ to secure the ends of the paper together to form the slider. I love the way the window gives you a peek at what is inside and also prevents anything from falling out. Use a mini tape runner and 3D Foam Squares to attach the stamped and colored embellishments.
