Then I used a couple of Spellbinder dies to create fun layers with embossed green cardstock and vellum.
I cut some tropical die cuts, inked them with green ink, and then added some white paint by splattering them with a watercolor brush to add dimension.
For the flower die cuts I chose a darker ink than the cardstock and with a blending brush, added color to the center.
Next, I die-cut and assembled some tropical dies to create a scene on the card front
I arranged the die cuts around the embossed Plush paper and adhered them to the card with our liquid adhesive.
I finished off the card with a sentiment. I love how the detail of the embossing folder really pops in the center of the card behind the bird. The embossing creates a fun background.
For my second card, I used a pineapple embossing folder to emboss Sunshine Yellow Latte Plush Papers.
Next, I die-cut all the pieces I wanted to use for my card.
Using some Distress Oxide ink, I inked all the leaves. Using ink on your die cuts is a fun way to add color and dimension.
Then taking some white paint, I splattered these leaves as well.
For the die-cut flowers, I inked the centers.
I cut an oval arch die with vellum to arrange the flamingo and leaves on before adhering to the card front with our liquid adhesive.
I finished off the card with a sentiment stamped with clear embossing powder on black cardstock and embossed in white embossing powder.
Here are both of my cards. The backgrounds really stand out with the embossing of the plush papers.
