Cut the donuts out of the adhesive. Save the scraps for the icing on top.
Attach the copper foil to the donuts.
Use a scrap piece of cream or white fabric and sketch out the icing onto the paper side of the scraps of hot melt adhesive. Attach the opal foil to the off white fabric and then cut the icing swirls out.
Use the white thread to top-stitch the icing to the donut.
Attach the four squares together. You can see I decided to go with just two donuts because I wanted to play around with the quilting. Iron the fusible fleece to the four squares. Be careful to avoid the foil because it will be ruined if you hit it with the iron. Lastly cut a piece of backing fabric that is 2" wider than the top all the way around.
Quilt how you see fit. I wrote the word donuts in lines with my pink Aurfil thread and I am totally obsessed with how it turned out!
Use the backing to create the binding and you are finished!
I hope you enjoy plenty of donuts today!!
