It's Amanda here from Jedi Craft Girl. I just returned from the most amazing sewing retreat at Missouri Star Quilt Co. in Hamilton, Missouri. If you ever have the chance to visit Missouri Star - GO!!! It is hard to explain how truly awesome this quilt town is.
While I was there we got to meet Jenny Doan and listen to her talk about many of her quilts. It was hear I was introduced to this fun template called "Wacky Web". Jenny has many fun videos of ways to use this template. Here is a project I learned while I was there.

I used my fabric stash of Comfort and Joy by Riley Blake Designs.
Using 1/4" seams, sew three together and sew the remaining three together.
Press seams as pictured below:
With right sides together and matching center seams, sew the two units together.
Place right side up on a piece of Fusible Fleece. Make sure fusible side is toward the wrong side of the fabric star.
Cut the fusible fleece so it aligns with the raw edges. Fuse into place with hot, dry iron.
Pin the star unit right sides together with the backing piece. Pin all the way around. Using 1/4" seams, begin sewing just after a point and sew all the way around, leaving a 2" opening to turn.
Turn right side out and press. Press the opening under. Topstitch 1/8" all the way around the star. Now make a whole bunch because they are so much fun!
Each one takes about 20 minutes start to finish. I think they would make cute little Christmas gifts for friends, neighbors, and teachers. Add a cute mug with a hot cocoa packet or add to a plate of cookies. Make a whole set for people you really like :) I think they would be cute to hang in the window also.
