Hi! I am always looking for new ways to use my DecoFoil™ Transfer Sheets. The NEW (coming soon!) Deco Foil™ Transfer Gel is yet another genius idea from Therm O Web to help me use my foil in even more ways. cha1 cha2 Therm O Web Supplies: DecoFoil™ Transfer Gel - Coming Soon! Deco Foil Transfer Gel Card Instructions:
To start, trim one piece of white cardstock to 4 x 5.25 and the other to 3.75 x 5. Take the larger of the two and secure it down to your protected surface using washi tape. Place stencil over cardstock and also secure it down. Stencil1 Using a palette knife (or your finger or cardstock; but it's messy!) spread the Deco Foil™ Transfer Gel over the stencil. Make sure to lay it on thick, then scrape away the excess gently. Stencil2 Stencil3 The excess can go back into the container. There has to be good coverage, otherwise the foil won't stick. Set aside and and allow time to dry. The Deco Foil Transfer Gel will go from a cloudy, opaque white to clear when set. Stencil4 Repeat the same process with the other piece of cardstock. Stencil5 Stencil7 Stencil8 Allow it to dry for about an hour. It has to be completely dry before running it through the laminator or the foil will not transfer. Waiting is the hardest part, but it's worth it! Stencil9 Once it is dry, choose your foil. Place it, shiny side DOWN onto the stencil and then place inside the folded parchment. Laminator This laminator heated up for about 10 minutes and I had it on the 5 mil setting. I ran it through one time and it had completely adhered, no problems at all. Stencil final brown After it comes out of the laminator, gently peel away the foil. The foil has adhered to the stenciled areas! Isn't that just so cool?!?! I kept giggling every time I looked at it. I love, love, love the idea that I can use my foil with stencils now (I have a bit of a stencil problem)! Stencil green final To complete the cards, I heat embossed some sentiments and adhered everything using foam squares. CHA2_detail CHA1_detail This is just one more way to get uber creative with foil. AND it is the perfect item to add to your mixed media collection! CHA1 CHA2 We want to see your creations! Don't forget to use the hashtags #decofoil and #thermoweb all over social media!
