Today I am sharing my very first layout as part of the Therm O Web design team and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it! I am backing several cutfiles with foil and plush papers.
I started by cutting a campfire and a marshmallow on a stick cut file as well as 5 two-piece fireflies. For the fireflies, I cut the solid base from Deco Foil Toner Sheets and the top layer from regular white cardstock. I flipped the campfire cutfile over and traced the inside of each flame on the back side of the toner sheet and cut them out by hand following just outside the pencil lines.
Foil and back the cutfiles. For each size flame, I used Deco Foil Color Harmony Transfer Foils in Red, Copper, and Tangerine. Since I have already traced and cut them, they fit right into place using Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive. I opted for the Gina K Fancy Foils in Glimmering Gold for my fireflies bases and glued them to the back of the firefly tops. They turned out so beautiful and shimmery! And I backed my marshmallow with Gina K White Velvet Plush Papers.
For my main background piece, I traced around a bowl to get 2 circles from some patterned paper from the Bella Blvd Adventure Awaits collection. I used my fingernail to distress the edges of the circle and placed one on top of the other and adhered them to my white background.
I used the ⅛” Easy Tear Tape to put down my photo of my boys roasting marshmallows over the campfire; one of my favorite views. I also put down my campfire cutfile using the ½” 3D Foam Squares and the marshmallow on a stick with the ¼” 3D Foam Squares.
I filled in with bits and pieces from the collection and used a fox Bella Pop at the bottom of my photo to add to the night time scene. After adhering the fireflies down with Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive I drew some swirly lines behind them to add a flying effect. I finished off with some wordy bits and a doodled border around the edges of my layout.
I love how easy it was to add some glimmering goodness to my page! The flames on that campfire are perfection and the glimmering gold fireflies definitely live up to their name! Come back next time for some more foiling fun!
