Hi crafty friends, it’s Ellen here taking over the blog again.
Today I’m sharing a birthday trio: a card, a tag, and a cake-shaped gift box. All three projects were created using the same basic techniques — foiling with Deco Foil Toner Card Fronts and adding texture with flock.
I’ll first explain how I used the toner cards and flock, and then I’ll show you each project individual.
How to Use Deco Foil Toner Card Fronts
Choose Your Toner Design (Toner Card Fronts and Foil-Mates sheets are pre-printed with toner ink. That toner is what reacts to heat and allows the foil to transfer
Add the Transfer Foil.
Place your chosen transfer foil (pretty side up) on top of the toner design. Place the toner card and foil inside a carrier sheet and run it through a laminator or the Fuse Foiling System.
Peel to Reveal. Once it cools slightly, gently peel back the foil sheet. The shiny magic appears instantly!
How to Cut & Apply Flock
For added texture, I used Plush Paper of in other words Flock Transfer Sheets. You can easily die-cut flock sheets and plush paper just like cardstock. After that you can adhere it using a strong adhesive like the “iCraft Mixed Media Multi-Purpose Adhesive”.
By combining foil shine with flock and plush textures, you can easily create projects that feel rich, layered, and extra special.
On top of the cake slice, I added a paper lemon and candle for extra dimension, along with rhinestones and pearls adhered with the same iCraft adhesive for durability.
Using the same color palette and techniques across multiple items makes it simple to design a cohesive gift set.
I hope this inspires you to experiment with foil and flock together — the texture contrast is truly magical!
