Hello crafty friends, Ellen here taking over the blog. Today I’m sharing three fun birthday cards featuring adorable outdoor adventurers. Each card tells its own little story and features shiny foil accents created with some of my favorite Therm O Web products.
For all three cards, I started by applying Fuse Foiling Gel through a stencil and allowing it to dry completely.
Once dry, I added foil by running the panels through my laminator. This is such an easy way to add beautiful shine and dimension exactly where you want it.
For my hedgehog card, I wanted to create a magical night sky behind the camping scene. I used Deco Foil Transfer Sheets – Fairy Wings over the Fuse Foiling Gel to create sparkling stars throughout the background. The iridescent finish adds lots of movement and catches the light beautifully.
The deer card features a fun waterside adventure scene. To add texture and shine, I used Deco Foil Plush Paper – Sunshine Yellow together with Deco Foil Transfer Sheets – Silver Shattered Glass. Both products can be added by using the transfer gel! The plush paper creates a soft, velvety finish while the shattered glass foil adds bright reflective highlights that make the water sparkle.
For my final card featuring a sweet squirrel explorer, I incorporated hot foiling on this card, using it to create the woodgrain background as well as the sentiment. (be careful, hot foiling is a totally different technique than using the transfer gel. You need other foils for this technique!)
Of course on this card I also used Deco Foil Transfer – Royal Carriage with Fuse Foiling Gel to create shimmering stars in the background. The foil adds just the right amount of sparkle to complement the warm colors of the design.
I love how easy it is to customize backgrounds with Fuse Foiling Gel and Deco Foil products. Whether you prefer subtle shine or bold sparkle, a few foiled details can completely transform a card and bring your scenes to life.
