Birthday Card Ideas with The New Foil-Mates!

Hello Crafty Friends! I am at it again using the Gina K. and Therm O Web amazing, new Foil-Mates to make Shaker Birthday Cards! There are nine new packs and two designs in each pack. You can see all the new designs here. Today, I made one card from the "Ornamental Holiday" pack and one from the "Stars and Stripes" pack. For the Sentiments, I used Gina K Design's new "Birthday Sparkle" Stamp and Die Set. The Birthday Balloon die set is from KsCraft! Lets get started!

For my first card, I used the Striped design from the "Ornamental Holiday" Foil-mates pack.The foil that I used for the background is Deco Foil's "Rainbow Shattered Glass" and Deco Foil's "Purple" for the base and part of the balloon.

To prepare the Foil-Mates I placed the toner card front and the rainbow foil (pretty side up) in a carrier sheet ran it through the Fuse Foiling System. For the die-cut balloon top, I ran the Deco Foil - Purple with the Deco Foil Black Toner card front through the Fuse Foiling System and then used that sheet to die cut the pieces for the balloon. Always Foil first and then die cut. I chose " Happy Birthday to You!" from Gina K. Designs "Birthday Sparkle" Stamp and Die set! I then assembled the shaker balloon using Gina K Design's Shaker Foam Strips and cut the strips very small to fit around the balloon: after I used iCraft's Ultra Bond adhesive to adhere the acetate. I then filled my balloon with tiny multi-color stars! Next, I prepared the base of my card and placed a solid piece of Deco Foil's Purple Foil sideways and glued the toner card front the other way. If you notice, I did not cross over the base at the bottom, so the card can still stand up! I used iCraft's 3D foam squares to adhere the sentiment!

For my second card, I used the stars design from the "Stars and Stripes" Foil-Mates pack. I also used the same die and sentiment set as above. This time I choose a star balloon and I used the "Make a Wish" sentiment! My background this time is a bright pink glitter paper and I used the Deco Foil Transfer Sheet, "Berry", for the outline of the balloon. I assembled the card and used the same process as above, except I outlined my sentiment with the glitter paper by using the same dies I used to die-cut the sentiments.
