Hot foiling is not as hard as you think. You just need a hot foiling machine and some hot foil dies. I am using products from my personal stash from Spellbinders.
To start my card, I hot-foiled this month's Spellbinders Glimmer/Hot Foil Die Set Sending Waves. I used our Aqua Sky Hot Foil on the cardstock. Isn't the color beautiful on the light blue cardstock?
I foiled another wave on a darker shade of blue cardstock to contrast. Then I adhered them to my cardstock with our XL Tape Runner.
Next I hot foiled the sentiment right on the white card base.
Using our 3D Tape Runner I adhered the wave onto the card stock below the sentiment and then used our 3D foam square to lift the wave off the card base a little.
Next using this month's small die club "Dancin Octopus and Friends, I die cut my dies and assembled.
Using the Ultra Bond liquid adhesive, I adhere the star dies together.
To assemble the card, I just added the die cuts with our foam squares. I positioned the octopus between the waves and had him holding one of the starfish. So cute right?
The Hot Foil really gives the finished card a letterpress look.
For the second beach-themed card, I used the same waves but this time I hot-foiled them in Gold Stardust.
Using a stencil from Newton's Nook and some Gina K yellow inks I created some sunshine to backdrop the die-cut waves. Then I shaded the bottom with brown ink to look like sand.
Using our Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive, I adhere the die cut to the cardstock.
Using another stencil I created some sand pebbles on the sand.
Using our Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive I adhered all the die cuts for my beach babe.
And then I adhered all the cuts to the cardbase.
The result is a fun beach-themed Hello for someone who loves the beach! I decided to add some birds to the finished card from the Gina K release Tropical Sunshine.
