Recently, my boys and I experimented with Cyanotype fabric - basically, you leave these specially treated fabric sheets out in the sun with objects on them, and the sun "dyes" them - or really - reacts to the fabric not covered by your objects. You can see two of our sheets below. We had some hits and misses, and Benji and I will be sharing about that in our Live as well.
Here's a look at the supplies we used to make the notebook cover - fabric, the Cyanotype Pretreated Sheets, and HeatnBond Medium Weight Fusible Interfacing. My notebook cover is based off of this excellent tutorial, but I'll also share what I did differently, including the special touch on the inside front cover, created with Benji in mind.
Whether you have kids going back to school or not, these notebook covers are a fun treat! You can use your favorite fabric to create a colorful protective cover for a notebook filled with quilt designs, to-do lists, or even a daily journal.
Hope to see you tonight!
